Hello my name is Alison Lycett, I have two children both now in their twenties. My son has Autism. He is the reason I became a Teaching Assistant more than 25 years ago. I am a Higher Level Teaching assistant and Governor at Bloemfontein Primary School and have been a member of staff for 14 years and a Governor for 9. I was elected as a Non-teaching Staff Governor and have SEN and Science Governor Responsibilities. I feel privileged to be a Governor, helping to support all areas of running our friendly, community driven school. But most of all, I am passionate about providing a happy learning environment for our children to thrive in, enabling them to reaching their own unique potential. Over the years I have learnt so much with the help and support of a now very experienced Governing Body. To date, I have been involved in appointing two Head Teachers, and two Deputy Head teachers, Class Teachers and Teaching Assistant posts, together with navigating through numerous Ofsted visits!
I am proud to call myself a Governor of Bloemfontein Primary School, proud of what we have achieved so far and look forward to continuing to be part of an exciting changing future for our wonderful school.
I currently serve on the following committees:
- Every Child Matters
- Link Governor for SEND and Science
